CALCULUS
Colin Adams, Williams College

Course Description
Calculus is one of humanity's greatest intellectual achievements. Its applications are found in numerous fields: from economics and astronomy to predicting weather patterns. But there is a terrible problem with calculus, as Professor Colin Adams puts it, "Students struggle with it the way children struggle to remove the childproof top on the chewable-vitamins bottle."

Calculus with Colin Adams is here to end that struggle, teaching students in a non-intimidating environment, that brings math to life in a whole new way. Through lectures, interactive learning tools, and a story-driven role-playing game where each user is thrust into the center of a cartoon murder mystery, students will learn while being thoroughly entertained. By the end of the course, students will learn how to differentiate and integrate single-variable functions, understand the interrelated nature of the key concepts of calculus, and appreciate the vast impact it has on their everyday lives. This will be the calculus course that students will want to take - not have to take.
