U.S. HISTORY II
Michael Barnhart, SUNY Stony Brook
John Daly, SUNY Brockport
Edna Greene Medford, Howard University
Tiffany Ruby Patterson, SUNY Binghamton
Michael Vorenberg, Brown University

Course Description
U.S. History II immerses students in the stories and interpretations of important people, events, and concepts central to understanding the history of the United States, from the end of the Civil War to modern day. Students explore these topics through lectures enhanced with thousands of images and animations, source analysis activities, interactive assessments, research assignments, and readings from textbooks and monographs. As students encounter people and events that are simultaneously different from and similar to the world they know today, they will develop and demonstrate deeper understandings of both past and present.

About The Faculty
U.S. History II is taught by leading faculty members from five different universities. Learning opportunities expand as students are introduced to multiple perspectives, emphases, and historical approaches, all held together with a consistent narrative and focus. With such a pluralistic use of faculty, U.S. History II provides a level of balance and a degree of breadth unmatched in traditional single-instructor classes.
